ABOUT

All basic information for the Lumberton Sidepath Feasibility Study can be found here.

Where is the proposed trail?

The Lumberton Loop as a whole is a planned citywide trail network. It will connect Lumberton's residents to the Lumber River ecosystem, restored streams, and recreational facilities.

This feasibility study is centered on one section of the Lumberton Loop, connecting Roberts Avenue to Lumber Riverwalk. Proposed to run north/south through Lumberton, the trail will connect downtown, businesses, and nearby neighborhoods to the rest of the Lumberton Loop.

The study corridor is about 2.5 miles long, connecting two City of Lumberton Parks.

What are we doing with this Plan?

Our initial field work helped to define the Issues & Opportunities for this corridor, noting sections that needed minor enhancements like extending an existing sidewalk, or adding crosswalks at intersections. Other portions of the trail are entirely lacking sidewalks or bike facilities, and our transportation team must review, measure, and propose a safe alternative for walking and biking.
